Participated in a research project on designing Human-AI interaction guidelines for supporting designer-developer communication at KIXLAB (KAIST Interaction Lab).

Intelligent devices vary widely in their types and levels of intelligence — from robot vacuums to AI speakers — each requiring distinct interaction models. Developing these devices demands close collaboration between designers and developers, yet the ill-defined nature of how 'intelligent' a device should be leads to high communication costs during development.

The project aimed to design an interaction guideline for developing intelligent devices. We surveyed features of existing AI devices, operationalized the intelligence level of AI devices based on survey results, and devised interaction guidelines for each level. As a research intern, I contributed to defining the intelligence levels of AI devices and applying and evaluating the guideline in real-world situations. This project was conducted in collaboration with an industry partner in Korea.
